About Us

 • Annfield Miniature Schnauzers Perm.Reg'd (Since 1983)       Don Emslie & Tim Doxtater

A Miniature Schnauzer came into our lives when we purchased a pet dog in 1981. Shortly after we decided that we wanted to pursue the hobby of breeding and showing this great little breed. We purchased two well-bred females from a long standing kennel.

Today we have over 27 years experience with Miniature Schnauzers and a long and successful show and breeding record.

Our small breeding program has produced over 89 Canadian Champions of which 39 have become American Champions and have produced 10 Best in Show winners. The Annfield bloodlines exist with numerous mini breeders throughout the world.

Our emphasis when breeding the Miniature Schnauzer is to achieve an animal that is true to the written breed-standard, has a sound & stable temperament and free of hereditary health problems. Several of our Champion dogs have achieved top obedience titles.

All of our breeding stock are American and Canadian Champion titled.

Our puppies are house raised and well socialized prior to placement in their new homes.

We continue to breed Miniature Schnauzers on a very limited basis as our careers as All-Breed Canadian Kennel Club licensed judges demand more of our time and attention.

• Fable Miniature Schnauzers       Karen McTavish

I have been involved in showing and breeding dogs since 1961. In 1997 I went looking for a breed of dog that would share our active life style. The love of a good-looking, healthy and even tempered companion led me to the Miniature Schnauzer. Fable Kennel was born.

My dogs are bred for health, temperament and adherence to attaining as close to the Miniature Schnauzer Standard as I can. I hope to improve this stature with each succeeding litter of puppies. I gain great satisfaction and enjoyment in breeding, training and showing my own Mini Schnauzers.

My dogs are raised with the family in our house, and I have limited litters, as I like to devote our energies to quality, not quantity.

I am a member of both the Miniature Schnauzer Club of Canada (MSCC) and the American Miniature Schnauzer Club (AMSC).

• Skyaire Miniature Schnauzers          Norley Smith

My love of Miniature Schnauzers began with the purchase of a pet dog in 1992. Some time passed and we decided we enjoyed the breed so much and that our first Mini needed a companion. We approached a reputable breeder in 1995 who was willing to sell us a female that we could show and breed. And so began my career in the show ring. Once Dusty had obtained her Canadian and International Championships she retired from the ring.

My very limited breeding program has produced 4 Canadian Champions and one American Canadian Champion (who has gone on to produce 5 Canadian Champions).

My puppies are house raised, socialized and crate trained prior to being placed in their new homes.

My goal is and always will be to produce healthy, well bred and confident puppies in keeping with the Breed Standard.

In June, Norley and Karen drove up to Whitehorse with their dogs and showed in the Yukon, then drove back to Nanaimo and showed their dogs there. It was a very enjoyable trip, lots of great scenery, wildlife, forest fires (scary), and it was a very successful trip as far as the dogs were concerned.  Both shows were well attended and very enjoyable, great hospitality at both venues. Some photos from those shows are now on the site.
